Idea Cellular is planning to launch LTE-based 4G services in the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh circle. However, the timing of the launch has not been finalised. This comes on back of impressive strong performance that the operator delivered in the circle during 2014-15. The number of subscribers on Idea?s network in the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh circle grew by 2 million during 2014-15 to reach 20 million as of May 2015. The operator also witnessed the highest year-on-year growth of about 4 percentage points in revenue market share in the circle which stood at 39.6 per cent in the quarter ended March 2015.
Meanwhile, Idea has invested substantially in spectrum acquisition in 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh circle in the last five years. This is likely to further boost its ability to expand its services in the circle.
