Idea Cellular has launched a 3G WiFi dongle, Smart Wifi, in 11 service areas where it holds 3G spectrum. This follows the launch of a similar device by Bharti Airtel last week.
The dongle will be available to customers in the Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (East) and Uttar Pradesh (West).
The dongle offers download and upload speed of 21.6 Mbps and 5.76 Mbps respectively. Further, it is equipped with an in-built WiFi antenna which can also operate on minimal power sources like laptop or car charging point to turn the device into a WiFi Hotspot.
