Pankaj Mohindroo, chairman, India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), has been nominated as a non-official member of the Board of Trade (BoT) constituted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The Board of Trade is the government’s apex consultative body on trade and export-related matters, bringing together leaders from industry, commerce, manufacturing, finance, technology and public policy to provide strategic inputs for strengthening India’s trade competitiveness and export growth.

Mohindroo’s nomination comes as India’s electronics manufacturing sector emerges as one of the country’s most dynamic growth engines, having witnessed significant expansion in production, exports, investment, innovation and employment over the past decade, positioning India as an increasingly significant player in global electronics value chains.

As the chairman of ICEA, Mohindroo has played a central role in advancing India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem and shaping policy frameworks that have enabled the sector to scale rapidly. Under his leadership, the industry has worked closely with the government in support of initiatives including Make in India, Digital India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, as well as India’s broader ambition of becoming a global manufacturing and export hub.
