Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings (HTHKH) has selected Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) as the sole vendor and partner for its 3G network modernisation and expansion project.

Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings (HTHKH) has selected Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) as the sole vendor and partner for its 3G network modernisation and expansion project.

The $45.1 million contract is spread over a five-year period.

According to the terms of the agreement, NSN will deploy HSPA+ technology across HTHKH’s existing 3G infrastructure, providing its compact base station technology, the Flexi BTS and the Direct Tunnel solution. NSN claims that its solutions will enable HTHKH to offer speeds as high as 42 Mpbs.
