Huawei is planning to strengthen its mobile broadband business in India by winning more 3G and 4G LTE deals and offering better customer experience.

Huawei India recently won a deal from Bharti Airtel to roll out TD-LTE 4G services in Karnataka. This is the first LTE deal in India for Huawei. The company plans to offer better consumer experience by providing network, devices and cloud solutions.

To further expand its business in the country Huawei India is also waiting for a possible 4G deal from Reliance Industries which has license for 22 circles.

For Huawei, India is an important market for its mobile broadband business. Asia Pacific will account for over 68 per cent of LTE revenue by 2015.

LTE revenues have reached over $ 2.1 billion in 2011, up from $ 0.6 billion in 2010 as per the Mind Commerce. More than 80 percent of the revenue will potentially accrue to major vendors such as Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia Siemens Networks and Huawei.

The study reports that as per the data provided by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) while Uninor has one per cent market share among mobile users, in the multi-SIM category Uninor?s market share is 6 per cent. Idea Cellular, which has a 10 per cent mobile user market share, enjoys a 15 per cent market share in the multi-SIM usage category.

The Nielsen study covered usage statistics of active multi-SIM card users in 18 Indian cities. As part of the study nearly 20,000 mobile users in the 18-55 age group were covered.
