Huawei Technologies will reportedly invest $100 million in India. It plans to invest in its R&D centre in Bangalore and set up a manufacturing facility in the country once the approval comes through.
Of the amount nominated, $60 million will be allocated to the manufacturing plant and the rest on expanding the R&D centre. Setting up a manufacturing base in the country will also enable Huawei to bid for BSNL’s 45.5 million GSM line contract.
