Chinese telecom major Huawei Technologies reportedly plans to set up a manufacturing unit in India. This facility will start out by manufacturing fixed wireless terminals and may go on to manufacture handsets and 3G equipment. These phones will be manufactured for TTSL and Reliance Infocomm. The company already has a research centre in Bangalore. It is planning to introduce CDMA handsets in India by end 2005.
