Huawei India has unveiled the Ascend Y 210 D device. The smartphone functions on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, supports dual SIM cards, packs in a 3.5 inch screen. It is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Cortex A5 processor.

It also has a 2 megapixel camera and supports Wi-Fi technology and is priced at Rs 4,999.

Commenting on the launch, Anand Narang, marketing director Huawei Device India, says, “To enable internet access for the Indian youth, we wanted to offer a compelling mid-range smartphone proposition at an entry level price. Huawei Ascend Y 210 D offers a bigger 3.5 screen, faster 1GHz processor, dual SIM for managing voice and internet connections and best-in-class battery life. The Ascend Y 210 D will help us put a no-compromise first smartphone into the hands of millions of younger Indians in smaller towns and cities”.
