Huawei has set up a research and development (R&D) centre in Istanbul, Turkey. The company intends to invest more than $50 million to build the R&D team. It plans to hire 500 Turkish engineers over the next three years. Huawei began operations in Turkey in 2002 and currently has more than 500 employees in the country.
