Huawei announced at its Eighth Annual Global Analyst Summit its strategy for the telecommunications industry over the next 10 years.

With the increasing convergence of information technology (IT) and communications technology (CT), Huawei has put in place a three-pronged strategy of ?Cloud-Pipe-Device? to provide solutions to telecommunications carriers, enterprises and customers, to expand the horizons of telecommunications industry and to contribute to the development and rise of the information communications technology (ICT) industry.

Richard Yu, CMO, Huawei, said, ?Globalisation has truly taken down all borders and a wholly-digitised society has come to the forefront where applications of telecoms are at the core not just for communications, but across all industries. This trend presents significant opportunities for Huawei and the telecommunications industry as a whole.?

According to Yangkaijun, CEO Huawei India, ?The Indian telecom industry has already witnessed tremendous growth and in the next decade it is poised for significant achievements. Huawei reaffirms its commitment to India by providing the latest cutting-edge technology to Indian partners in 2G, 3G, enterprise, terminals and in the LTE domain.”

In the last 20 years, technological evolution and the transformation to a digital society have driven the rapid growth of the telecommunications industry. However, the traditional telecommunications industry now stands at a crossroads and is redefining itself where its focus is shifting from voice to data, from communications pipe to content development, from human-to-human communications to machine-to-machine communications, and from CT to ICT. All these changes will create tremendous opportunities for the growth of the telecommunications industry.

To capitalise on these trends, Huawei has developed cloud computing solutions and constructed its ?Smart Device, Simple World? strategy with a view to provide a ICT solution that focuses on the three components of cloud computing, network, and device. Huawei has also introduced a new organisational structure centered around these three key drivers of growth.

?The next 10 years will be a crucial period as the needs of users shift from basic communications to comprehensive demands for information. The disappearing line between IT and CT presents both opportunities and challenges for us. Huawei will continue to collaborate closely with partners to broaden the boundaries of the telecommunications industry and work towards greater growth,? Yu said.
