Idea Cellular’s chief executive officer (CEO) Himanshu Kapania was elected chairman of Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) for 2014-15. Kapania takes over from outgoing COAI chairman Marten Pieters, who recently also stepped down as Vodafone India’s CEO.
Meanwhile, Gopal Vittal, Bharti Airtel’s managing director & CEO for India & South Asia, was re-elected vice-chairman of the GSM industry body.
