Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited (HFCL) has posted an increase of about 325 per cent in net profit from Rs 152.9 million for the quarter ended June 2013 to Rs 649.70 million for the corresponding quarter in 2014. On quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, the net profits grew by 161.65 per cent.

Net income from operations grew by 139.53 per cent from Rs 2.58 billion for the quarter ended June 2013 to Rs 6.18 billion for the same period in 2014. On the other hand, on QoQ basis, the net income declined by 8.33 per cent.

Improved profitability in the April-June 2014 vis-?-vis January-March 2014 can be attributed to lower expenses, which declined from Rs 6.46 billion for the quarter ended March 2014 to Rs 5.43 billion for the quarter ended June 2014.

Among the two business segments – turnkey contracts and services and telecom products, the former accounted for majority of the overall revenues for the quarter ended June 2014. While the former contributed revenues of Rs 4.97 billion, the latter contributed Rs 1.21 billion.
