HFCL Limited has signed up Metanoia Communications and NXP Semiconductors for its 5G new radio (NR) indoor small cell solution. While Metanoia will supply its 5G NR radio frequency (RF) transceiver, NXP will provide its Layerscape and Layerscape Access family of processors for HFCL’s all-in-one 5G two-transceiver-two receivers (2T2R) indoor small cell.

As per the companies, their 5G chips will enable HFCL to deliver over 1 Gbps aggregate throughput, making it ideal for 5G in-building solutions and for private 5G networks.

According to Mahendra Nahata, managing director, HFCL, 5G small cells are an integral part of HFCL’s growing 5G radio access network (RAN) portfolio to help telcos improve 5G coverage and enable private 5G solutions for the digital transformation of various industries.

Meanwhile, according to Stweart Wu, president and chief executive officer, Metanoia, the company’s growing line of integrated 5G products provides high-performance, low cost and low-power 5G solutions to enable 5G massive deployments worldwide.

Further, as per Jeff Steinheider, vice president and general manager, industrial edge, NXP, the advanced capabilities of the company’s Layerscape family and its broader 5G portfolio support the wide-ranging needs of 5G network deployments.
