HCLTech has launched a 5G testing and validation lab in Chennai for telecom original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The facility is equipped with high-end scanners which enable global OEMs to test large cellular base stations along with small form factor antennas used in mobile phones, smart gadgets, health monitoring systems, and remote surveillance systems.
Currently, the lab can validate and test 5G telecom antennas for frequency bands up to 7 GHz. However, it is scalable to test millimetre-wave (mmWave) frequency 5G infrastructure. These parameters help infrastructure OEMs to accelerate time to market, optimise cellular networks and provide seamless connectivity on both voice and data.
