According to Sanjeev Kaushal, chief secretary, Haryana, the state government is taking steps to enhance the its readiness for 5G technology adoption and streamlining departmental planning. He also announced the collaboration between the state government and the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N), which has resulted in the development of three innovative mobile applications to facilitate the mapping of street infrastructure and other departmental infrastructure. This is a significant step forward in enhancing the state’s readiness for 5G and streamlining departmental planning. The applications are tailored to meet the needs of the town and country planning, urban local bodies, and Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board (HSAMB) departments.
Meanwhile, 12 inline departments have been instructed to promptly upload these layers to a dedicated PM Gati Shakti portal. The data is essential for ensuring the efficient deployment of 5G technology. Kaushal also directed officials from the Ministry of Commerce to hold regular review meetings to address any challenges faced by the departments while uploading the data to the portal.
Further, the Government of India has requested specific data regarding the 5G rollout, prompting immediate action from the administrative secretaries of the 12 departments concerned. These departments have been instructed to provide comprehensive data on six key points related to the 5G rollout to the Ministry of Commerce within a tight deadline of four to five days.
