Harish Kumar G.S., Head of Sales, India & South Asia, Check Point
With over three decades of experience in enterprise technology and cybersecurity, Harish Kumar G.S. commands deep expertise in sales leadership, go-to-market strategies, and business transformation across diverse industries and geographies. He is currently the Head of Sales for India and South Asia at Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., where he spearheads sales strategy, customer engagement and business development for the company’s comprehensive cybersecurity solutions.
Kumar believes that the cybersecurity landscape in India, and globally, is under growing pressure from rising cyberthreats, ransomware and geopolitical tensions, with artificial intelligence now a major enabler for attackers. Looking ahead, AI misuse, ransomware evolution and emerging risks such as quantum computing will shape future threats.
At Check Point, Kumar leads initiatives that help organisations adopt a prevention-first approach to security, leveraging AI-driven threat intelligence, Zero Trust frameworks and multi-layered protection across networks, cloud, endpoints and IoT devices. He notes, “Our target is to make defenses more proactive and resilient, while also supporting public-private collaborations, awareness campaigns and talent development initiatives to strengthen India’s critical digital infrastructure and build a future-ready workforce.”
Before joining Check Point, Kumar held senior leadership positions at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and IBM, where he managed business units, industry verticals and regional operations. Throughout his career, he has successfully guided sales teams, incubated new business models and enabled enterprises to strengthen security in hybrid and cloud-first environments.
Kumar’s leadership style is anchored in a “people-first, customer-first” philosophy, balancing long-term vision with immediate operational priorities. A certified Emotional Intelligence trainer, he emphasises coaching and empowering teams to deliver consistent performance and growth. Beyond his professional role, he is passionate about mentoring young talent and shaping the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
An alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, Calicut, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering, Kumar combines technical depth with strategic insight. Outside of work, he enjoys books and blues music – his “B&B zones” for creative reflection. At home, he treasures time with his close-knit family, which includes his parents, wife, two daughters, a beagle and a cat.
