The government of Gujarat is stepping up efforts to boost employment in the state, setting a new target of generating one million government jobs over the next ten years. As part of this initiative, the government has taken steps to strengthen industrial training institutes (ITIs) and skill development centres (SDCs) across the state.

Deputy chief minister shared these details during an interaction with a delegation of journalists from Jammu, Punjab and Chandigarh. Employment generation was among the key issues discussed during the interaction between the deputy chief minister and the visiting journalists.

He also stated that four new semiconductor units are being set up in Gujarat. These projects are expected to support the objectives of the India Semiconductor Mission by reducing the country’s dependence on semiconductor imports.
