GTL Infrastructure Limited plans to set up 25,000 transmission towers across India as part of its second phase of expansion. Of these, the company expects at least 7,000 towers to be subsidised by the Universal Service Obligation (USO) Fund. The project is estimated to cost Rs 41Rs 50 billion. GTL is currently in the process of raising Rs 3.4 billion through a rights issue for the same.
