GSMA has appointed a new 26-member board for the 2025-2026 term, starting in January 2025.
Gopal Vittal, managing director and chief executive officer of Bharti Airtel, has been appointed as Deputy Chair of the board. Hebrings a wealth of experience in the mobile industry and will play a key role in supporting the chair and guiding the organisation’s strategic direction.
Meanwhile, GSMA re-elected José María Álvarez-Pallete López as chair. He will continue to guide the organisation’s strategic direction as the mobile industry undergoes rapid transformation driven by technology advancements, digitalisation, and artificial intelligence (AI).
