
According to the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), India?s total GSM subscriber base has increased by 0.88 per cent (6.48 million) month-on-month (MoM) to 739.57 million in June 2014.
Vodafone India witnessed the highest subscriber addition of 1.62 million new customers, taking its total subscriber base to 169 million. Uninor followed Vodafone India in terms of net addition with 1.43 million new customers. Idea Cellular ranked third in terms on net addition with 1.29 million new subscribers. Bharti Airtel added 1.01 million new customers, taking the operator?s overall subscriber to 209.2 million as of June 2014. Meanwhile, Aircel, Videocon Telecom and Mahanagar Telepohne Nigam Limited added 1 million, 140,000 and 10,000 new customers respectively.
