According to the recently released data by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the GSM subscriber base has increased by 0.90 per cent from 705.19 million at the end of March 2015 to 711.55 million at the end of April 2015.

Bharti Airtel added 2.23 million subscribers during the reported period, taking its user base to 228.25 million with a market share of 32.08 per cent. Meanwhile, Idea Cellular added 1.39 million subscribers in April 2015 and its subscriber base increased to 159.20 million with 22.37 per cent market share. Vodafone added 0.75 million subscribers during the period and its subscriber base stood at 184.56 at end-April 2015 with 25.94 per cent market share.

Uninor added 1.16 million subscribers, while Aircel added 0.61 million subscribers taking their total subscriber base to 46.78 million and 82.01 million respectively at end-April 2015. Videocon telecom added 0.16 million subscribers and its base increased to 7.30 million at the end of April whereas state-run MTNL added 10,845 users to take its base to 3.43 million.
