
According to the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), GSM telecom operators added 8.21 million new subscribers in November 2014, resulting in an increase in the total GSM subscriber base from 662.1 million in October 2014 to 670.25 million subscribers in November 2014.
In November 2014, Idea Cellular added the maximum number of new subscribers at 2.54 million and its total subscriber base stood at 147.9 million. Meanwhile, Vodafone India added 2.32 million users during the month, taking its total subscriber base to 177.1 million. It was followed by Bharti Airtel that added 2.04 million users, taking its total user base and market share to 215.4 million and 32.15 per cent, respectively.
Further, during November 2014, Aircel added 953,000 new users, while Uninor recorded an increase of 193,000 subscribers. Videocon Telecom and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited added 130,000 and 19,280 new subscribers, respectively.
The subscriber numbers reported by COAI do not include GSM users of Reliance Communications and Tata Teleservices Limited.
