Group of Ministers approves deployment of 100,000 4G sites by BSNL

The Group of Ministers has approved the deployment of 100,000 sites for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) 4G network rollout by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)-led consortium.

In February 2023, the board of BSNL recommended the deployment of 100,000 network sites for the 4G commercial service launch by the telco. TCS will supply 4G equipment for these sites for a total sum of around Rs 245 billion that includes network gear cost of about Rs 130 billion as well as third-party items and a 10-year annual maintenance contract.
