The government is planning to introduce a five-year strategic plan to make India a significant player in the tech space.
To this end, the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) will partner with the private sector for future technology developments in areas such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and semiconductors.
MeitY noted that there has been tremendous digitalisation in the country’s economy and public services in the past six years. Further, post Covid-19 era offers a new set of opportunities for the development of these technologies.
MeitY has said that the government is open to recommendations and consultations to prepare a road map for making India a significant player in the technology space.
