As per Devusinh Chauhan, Minister of State (MoS) for Communications, the government is planning to fiberise 600,000 villages by 2025.

This move by the government is aimed at bridging the digital divide in the country. Detailing the progress, Chauhan informed that 260,000 villages have already been connected by optical fibre cable (OFC).

With regard to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the minster said that the government seeks to deploy a completely indigenously manufactured 4G mobile network. The Minster affirmed that the country can expect that by the third quarter of this year.
