The government of India has announced that the Zoom Meeting platform is not safe and has, therefore, issued an advisory for all the Zoom users in India.
The advisory also stated that the platform is not for use by government officers/officials for official purposes.
The advisory puts forth different ways by which users can safeguard their virtual meetings from malicious actors. The broad objective of the advisory is to prevent any unauthorised entry into a Zoom conference and prevent an unauthorised participant from carrying out malicious attacks on the terminals of other users in the conference.
The government’s statement has also made a reference to the advisory issues by the Computer Emergency Response Team of India (CERT-In) a few days back.
