The government has received cumulative bids worth Rs 960 billion at the end of the seventh day of the ongoing spectrum auctions. So far, the government has conducted a total of 43 rounds of bidding.

Currently, over 84 per cent of the spectrum has been provisionally allocated to the telecom operators. According to the Department of Telecommunications, aggressive bidding was witnessed in the 1800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz bands.

The maximum bids were received for Punjab and Rajasthan circles in the 900 MHz band, while Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Kolkata circles saw maximum demand in the 1800 MHz band. In the 800 MHz spectrum band, Madhya Pradesh circles witnessed high bidding activity. Meanwhile, the demand for spectrum in the 2100 MHz band continues to be low. Bidding activity was witnessed only in the Assam and Rajasthan circles.
