According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the government has received 58 applications for the revised production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for IT hardware as on date.
The application deadline is August 30, 2023. The updated PLI scheme’s deadline was extended for the second time in response to requests for more time from stakeholders to submit the documentation in July 2023.
Furthermore, the cash outlay for the revised scheme is Rs 170,000 million, more than double the incentives provided by the previous version of the scheme. The scheme aims to encourage global IT hardware manufacturers such as Apple, Dell, HP, and others to set up their production bases in India.
