The minister of state for electronics and information technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, stated that the government is planning on expanding the scope of the semiconductor design-linked incentive scheme (DLI) to involve bigger Indian as well as foreign companies. As the initiative is steadily gaining confidence and support, it is a new opportunity for startups to dive into deep tech and semiconductor design.
As per the minister, seven startups have been selected under the scheme as of now. Aheesa Digital Innovations and Calligo Technologies are two of the participants in the semiconductor DLI scheme, where Aheesha focuses on telecom, networking and cyber security domains while Calligo focuses on serving global companies in big data and artificial intelligence/machine learning.
