The government has fulfilled the debt obligations for Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) by making the upcoming semi-annual interest payment on its bonds, which was due on November 7, 2024.
MTNL has notified investors that the interest payment for its 7.80 per cent bond has been completed, with funds transferred to the designated escrow account on November 4, 2024.
As of August 30, 2024, MTNL’s total financial debt amounts to Rs 319.96 billion. This debt comprises both bank loans and bonds, with a significant difference regarding guarantees.
