The Rajasthan government has selected Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel in a tender to provide internet access and free smartphones to the women heads of 13.3 million families. The tender worth more than Rs 120 billion was launched under the Mukhyamantri Digital Seva Yojana.

The modalities of the deal are yet to be finalised by the empowered committee of the state government and the distribution of free smartphones will begin from the second week of December 2022.

Samsung and HMD Nokia in a partnership with Reliance Jio will be supplying the phones in three batches after the letter of intent is issued.

For three years, Jio and Airtel will give every user 4G connectivity with 20 GB data per month along with unlimited voice calling. Samsung will be providing the Galaxy A03 Core which costs Rs 7,500.
