The government will not take coercive action against telcos that failed to meet the Supreme Court’s (SC) January 23, 2020 deadline to pay adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues as per a Department of Telecommunications (DoT) internal note.

Recently, Reliance Jio Limited became the only telecom operator to meet the Supreme Court’s deadline of January 23, 2020 and has paid adjusted AGR related dues of Rs 1.77 billion.

Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea, Airtel and Tata Teleservices are awaiting the hearing of their modification pleas in the SC before paying the dues.
