While addressing the parliament, minister of state for communications Sanjay Dhotre said that the government has no proposal to exclude Chinese telecom gear companies from 5G contracts.

Earlier in August 2020, the Department of Telecommunications had informed the IT Parliamentary Standing Committee that the final decision regarding this will be taken by the home ministry after taking into consideration the national security concerns.

Further the minister also noted that the government has no proposal to ban all Chinese apps operating in India. Also, the government has said that it does not have data regarding the financial loss caused by the ban of 224 Chinese apps.
