Government extends PK Purwar’s appointment as MTNL CMD by another six months

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of PK Purwar’s appointment as the chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) for a period of six months.

This will be effective from April 15, 2021 to October 14, 2021. During this period, Puwar will not be entitled to any additional remuneration.

Earlier in April 2020, the government had given an additional charge of MTNL’s CMD to Purwar for a period of six months.
