The government has extended 2G internet services in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) till May 11, 2020.

As per an order, principal secretary, department of home affairs, has decided to continue 2G internet services in the union territory citing spurt in militancy related incidents with the launch of new militant outfits.

Internet was banned in J&K at the time of revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. Later on, it was restored in a phased manner across the union territory. However, high-speed mobile internet services continue to remain suspended in the region.
