According to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, nine proposals on semiconductor manufacturing are undergoing the analysis stage in the ministry.
He noted that the ministry has received two fab proposals, four outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) proposals and three proposals for compound fabs, which are currently undergoing an analysis.
Furthermore, he added that the country will see many startups in emerging spaces like semiconductors, electronics, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-performance computing (HPC), among others, in the coming days.
