The government has sought views of Attorney General (AG) on the Supreme Court?s verdict of cancelling 122 licences.

Based on the AG’s views, the government will make a decision regarding filling a review petition on the judgement. Currently, the government is only analysing the implications of the verdict.

The government believes that cancellation of licences is a policy matter and SC?s order has large implications for the industry and the government. It may lead to serious international ramifications, as the foreign investors had followed the law of the land prevalent at that time.
