The government has extended the application deadline for the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for information technology (IT) hardware for the second time. Companies that are interested can now apply by August 30, 2023.
The scheme worth Rs 170 billion intends on attracting global companies to manufacture IT hardware like laptops, tablets, servers etc, in India. The revised scheme added flexibility in tenure and investments for participants. With a six-year tenure, the participants can choose 2023,2024 or 2025 as the base year for investment and the calculation of incremental sales.
