The government has cleared the demand of CDMA players for parity with GSM operators with regard to spectrum charges for microwave access and backbone networks. According to DoT, operators on both platforms would now follow a revenue share model. The new plan will be communicated to the CDMA players shortly. Currently, members of the Association of Unified Service Providers of India are paying four times higher charges than GSM operators for the same resource.
