Global mobile SMS security market to reach $1 billion by 2018, says, Infonetics Research

According to Infonetics Research, mobile messaging security gateway and firewall market is expected to reach $1 billion by 2018. Further, the mobile infrastructure security market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 42 per cent from 2013 to 2018.

The research firm states that with the growing number of long term evolution-based networks, the Gi-SGi firewall revenue is expected to increase significantly over the next few years. These internet protocol-based networks require protection from potential security threats from internal as well as external sources.

Infonetics Research has identified Check Point, Fortinet, and Juniper Networks as the major vendors leading the Gi-SGi firewall space. Meanwhile, dominant players in the SMS-MMS security gateway market include AdaptiveMobile and Cloudmark.
