The global market for mobile network drive test equipment is projected to increase from $253.2 million in 2020 to reach $522.5 million by 2025, rising at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.6 per cent owing commercial 5G network deployments despite the pandemic, according to a Frost & Sullivan report.
Asia Pacific (APAC), led by China, is expected to be the fastest-growing market for mobile network drive test equipment due to smart city initiatives and 5G deployments, the report stated. As per the report, North America will exhibit the second-fastest growth rate, followed by Europe and the rest of the world (RoW) due to limited 5G deployment, and the technology being in its infancy.
Moreover, the firm suggests vendors develop 5G new radio (NR) drive testing based on user-centric testing to address device performance challenges such as internal antenna placement and interference. It encourages suppliers to combine artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) for root cause analysis, and offer drone-based solutions along with ground-level drive testing.
