Agarwal has been inducted to this remarkable platform for his exemplary contributions for proliferation of IPv6 usage among various stakeholders leading to effective deployment of IPv6 in India.

On being inducted into hall of fame for 2020 at a virtual launch event of Bharat IPV6 forum, R M Agarwal, said, “I am very delighted and proud for being nominated and selected among the IPv6 experts across the world. I am happy that the contributions made for the IPv4 to IPv6 migration in the country by preparing both version 1 & version 2 of the National IPv6 Deployment Roadmap have been considered for the nomination. With 6 billion world population, 100 billion Internet connections expected by 2023, IoT, 5G, Seamless mobility etc, the need for unlimited IP Address space to connect everyone and everything, can only be addressed by IPv6. India was in the bottom of the ladder in IPv6 readiness a decade ago. With the proactive initiatives of DoT and the Government of India, we are today in the leading position in the implementation for IPv6. In order to fast forward the Digital India initiative of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, we as a PSU under DoT are committed to support the Government measures in the future proliferation of IPv6 among the various stakeholders like Government organisations, Service Providers, Content & Application Providers, Equipment manufacturers, Cloud Service Providers, Data Centres etc.

Meanwhile, Satya N Gupta, Chairman, IPv6 Council, in his welcome address lauded the IPv6 groundwork executed by DoT and said that the Road Map documents authored by Shri. Agarwal will be the guiding ‘Magna Carta’ for IPv6 transition in India.  Dr. Latif Ladid, Global Chair, New Internet & Founder, IPV6 Forum expressed that good work has been done by Government of India through DoT  has led to the present rise of IPv6 in India.

Further, Anil Kumar Jain, CEO, NIXI categorically mentioned that the good work started by DOT will be carried forward. He also announced via virtual platform that free IPv6 training will be provided to interested stakeholders and NIXI will prepare an IPv6 index as a ready reckoner.
