Gaurav Gandhi: Co-Founder and CEO, Echelon Edge
Gaurav Gandhi is the co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Echelon Edge Pvt Ltd, a leading global IT solutions provider with operations spanning India and Australia. With over 17 years of experience in the telecom sector, Gandhi has steered Echelon Edge from a start-up to an over Rs 700 million company, delivering 8x growth through innovative and scalable technology offerings.
Beginning his career as a core network engineer, Gandhi transitioned into sales before founding Echelon Edge to address the evolving needs of telecom operators and enterprise clients. Today, his company is focused on expanding its global footprint, targeting $100 million in revenue within the next three years by entering new markets and forging strategic partnerships.
“One of the main challenges is establishing a strong presence in global markets,” Gandhi says. “Expanding beyond India means navigating diverse regulatory frameworks, adapting to different market needs, and competing with established international players. However, this also brings great prospects given the rising demand for customisable OSS/BSS solutions that are scalable and reliable,” he adds.
Gandhi observes that the telecom industry is rapidly evolving, with networks becoming increasingly data-centric and use case-specific. The growth of Internet of Things, edge computing and Artificial Intelligence is driving applications such as smart cities, remote healthcare and industrial automation. Fixed Wireless Access is gaining momentum as a last-mile connectivity option, especially where fibre deployment is challenging. Private 5G networks are also emerging as a game changer in sectors such as manufacturing and logistics.
In India, government initiatives supporting indigenous technologies and green infrastructure are further accelerating innovation. Gandhi, who serves as a Governing Council Member of the Bharat 6G Alliance, is actively engaged in shaping India’s telecom future.
Known for his risk-taking appetite, eagerness to learn and ability to build lasting relationships, Gandhi emphasises an empowering management style that entrusts responsibility to his team.
Gandhi holds a BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MBA in Marketing. Away from the boardroom, he enjoys bike rides, golf and spending time with his children. A native of a small town in Haryana, he attributes his success to the close support of his family, which includes his businessman father, homemaker mother, sister, and niece and nephew.
