Full evaluation of telco’s self assessed AGR dues may take six months

As per industry sources, full evaluation of telecom firms’ self-assessed adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues could take at least six months as it will require checking various documents spread over multiple years.

Earlier, the government had asked Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and other telcos to pay the remaining AGR dues as per the Supreme Court (SC) order without further delay.

The directive had come after self-assessed AGR dues of Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) were far lower than Department of Telecommunications’ (DoT) estimates.
