Micromax has appointed Sanjay Kapoor, former chief executive officer (CEO) of Bharti Airtel as the company?s chairman and promoter.
With Kapoor coming on board, the Indian handset manufacturer is looking forward to leverage his experience in the telecom and corporate sector to take Micromax?s business to the next level of growth and expansion.
Prior to joining Micromax, Kapoor served as the CEO – India and South Asia at Bharti Airtel. In addition, he has also been a board and executive committee member of GSMA, (the global forum representing 800 mobile operators) and board member of Indus Tower, among others. At present, he is also serving on the board of Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited and PVR Limited.
