Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Pakistan’s telecommunications sector has declined by 21 per cent in 2007-08 as compared to 2006-07.

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Pakistan’s telecommunications sector has declined by 21 per cent in 2007-08 as compared to 2006-07. According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, FDI inflow declined by $385.7 million to reach $1,438.60 million in 2007-08 as compared to $1,824.3 million recorded in 2006-07.

The telecom sector’s share in Pakistan’s overall FDI also fell by 7.6 per cent to stand at 27.9 per cent in 2007-08.
