Some of the leading telecom companies have come out with their financial results for the year ended March 31, 2005.The companies have shown mixed performance. While the state-owned MTNL has registered a drop in both its topline and bottomline, private sector operator Bharti has witnessed a major increase in both its sales and profit figures.Meanwhile, Reliance Infocomm has achieved a turnaround during the year, driven by higher subscriber numbers. Among the vendors, ITI saw a 20 per cent rise in sales, unlike last year, and reduced losses on its books. The sales of cable manufacturer Sterlite Optical saw a threefold increase, facilitating a turnaround in 2004-05.
