US Federal Communications Commission Chairman (FCC) Ajit Pai met telecom secretary Anshu Prakash and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman Dr R.S. Sharma to discuss issues related to spectrum including 5G.
However, the scope of participation of Chinese telecom vendors such as Huawei in the 5G spectrum was not discussed.
The panel also discussed measures to improve teledensity and US’ strategy with regards to fiberisation, spectrum bands and auction process.
As per the telecom secretary, the industry should work towards improving spectrum efficiency. Further, the development in LMLC (low mobility large cell) for 5G technology was also put forward in the meeting.
