Excitel has begun operations in the city of Kanpur and Lucknow. With an effort to meet the growing demand for broadband services, Excitel has commenced operations and rolled out affordable robust plans without FUP limits in the cities. At present, Excitel is serving 12,000 subscribers in Kanpur and 6,000 subscribers in Lucknow. Going forward, the company plans to reach out to 50,000 customers by 2021.

Commenting on the launch, Vivek Raina, co-founder, and CEO, Excitel, said, “Uttar Pradesh is one of the most promising markets and we are elated to begin operations in the Capital city of Lucknow and Kanpur. During the COVID lockdown, there has been an exponential rise in the need for internet connectivity as the majority of populations are currently operating from home. Businesses, students, and households are relying majorly on internet services for their day to day activities. With an aim to meet this huge demand we have aggressive plans of getting the world-class FTTH services at affordable rates in the western belt of UP.”

He further added, “We aim to go to every underserved area of Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities which till now have been mostly neglected by telcos. We at Excitel believe in eliminating digital exclusion and are therefore committed to bringing high speed, 100 per cent FTTH services at affordable rates to all areas of the city.”

More than 50 per cent of Excitel’s current sales is of FTTH and by the end of 2020 the company plans to sell only FTTH services. Excitel is currently delivering 600 GB of data over a massive fibre network of 20,000 km including partners’ networks to close to 390,000 households across India.
