Etisalat DB has requested the Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) to ask the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to release its Rs 1.60 billion performance bank guarantee (PBG), on grounds that it completed network roll-out in 11 circles within the stipulated timeframe.
In response, TDSAT has asked DoT to clarify its stand, as the operator?s financial guarantee was going to lapse in January 2012 and the banks have to be intimated a month prior to that.
Etisalat has provided a PBG of Rs 2.12 billion for the spectrum alloted to it in 15 circles.
